Craving for desert retreat !
Looking for a budgeted trip during a long weekend! under AED 500
No time to get visa and you want to have a quick travel with visa on arrival basis!
An easy & safe camping & road trip !
Then Oman is the place for you. For under AED 500 you can have an incredible 3 nights stay in beautiful Oman. An experience that will be one to share with your nearest and dearest.
In order to experience this memorable stay you will need the requirements stated below;
If you live in UAE
1. You will need to have at least a 6 month valid UAE visa and 6 month valid passport.
2. A valid car registration.
Driving from Dubai to Omani borders takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. This really depends on where you’re driving from and your driving speed.
As soon as you reach the borders you will present your passport and your vehicle registration to UAE immigration officers. You will pay around AED 35 per person.
After that you will fill out a visa on arrival to enter Oman and will pay 5 Omani Riyals which is AED 50.
If your car insurance just covers UAE you need to pay insurance which will cost you almost AED 80 . This is to insure you whilst driving in Oman. However if your car insurance covers Oman, show the officer the insurance and that way you don’t have to pay any extra.
After you pass the borders it takes almost 4 hours to reach Muscat. The drive to Muscat is epic and totally worth it especially if you’re a Jeeper or you drive a 4 wheel car. If you’re not a 4 wheel driver, don’t get disappointed you will still enjoy the ride.
Download Oman Map either on google maps or sygic to use an offline map to navigate around the city without the need of an internet connection.
